Calculate the correct nozzle orifice size for your pressure washer. Using a nozzle that is too small can damage your pump, while one that is too large will reduce your cleaning pressure. Standard orifice size for 3.0 GPM at 3000 PSI. Use these color codes for different angles: High-pressure hoses cause friction loss, reducing the actual PSI delivered to your trigger gun. Calculate the pressure loss across your hose setup. Friction loss across 50 ft of standard 3/8" hose flowing 4.0 GPM. Your nozzle will receive approximately 48 PSI less than the pump output pressure. Gas engines must have sufficient horsepower (HP) or displacement (CC) to power a replacement pump. Input your engine shaft size and HP/CC to find compatible pump setups.
